The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Wednesday's Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Chris Carpenter, St. Louis Cardinals (11-3, 2.93 ERA)

The Cardinals veteran righty has been stellar in his last four starts, going 2-0 with a 1.45 ERA. Carpenter’s most recent outing was an eight-inning shutout effort in which he allowed just five hits and struck out six batters in a 1-0 no-decision over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cy Young contender has also dominated his divisional foes this year, going 11-0 with a 1.58 ERA in 15 outings versus National League Central teams.

Anibal Sanchez, Florida Marlins (8-6, 3.33 ERA)

The Marlins righty has just one win in his last three outings, with two no-decisions, but he his carrying a slim 1.71 ERA and 17 strikeouts during that span. His last start was a complete-game shutout against the San Francisco Giants in which he allowed just one hit and walked only one batter.

Slumping

Edwin Jackson, Chicago White Sox (6-10, 5.16 ERA)

The former Arizona Diamondbacks hurler makes his debut with the Chicago White Sox Wednesday after being dealt during the trade deadline this past week. Jackson will to squaring off against another former team in the Tigers, hoping to snap a four-game losing skid in Comerica Park. The righty has a 7.25 ERA over those four outings. In 2009, while with Detroit, Jackson went 7-3 with a 4.27 ERA in 15 games inside Comerica Park.

Brian Matusz, Baltimore Orioles (3-11, 5.46 ERA)

The Orioles starter hasn’t won a game since the Fourth of July, going 0-2 with a 12.46 ERA in his four outings since. In his last trip to the bump, Matusz allowed five earned runs on two hits while walking four batters in only 3 1-3 innings pitched for a no-decision against the Kansas City Royals. The funny thing is the left hander had a no-hitter through four innings before the wheels fell off.

HOT LINES

Wednesday's Best MLB Bets

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs (-142, 7.5)

After three consecutive subpar starts, Ryan Dempster welcomes the arrival of the Brewers, against whom he has enjoyed incredible success throughout his career.

Dempster owns a 13-3 record against the Brew Crew with a 2.69 ERA. He is 2-0 vs. Milwaukee this season and has held Corey Hart to 1-for-23 lifetime, but he settled for a no-decision in an error-plagued loss in their last meeting.

"We have to win no matter who we're playing against," Dempster said. "The more this season keeps getting later and later, the more losses pile up. We have to win more games, that's the bottom line."

The Brewers counter with lefty Manny Parra, who is 0-1 in four appearances against the Cubs with a 5.84 ERA. He has only one quality outing in his last six starts.

The Cubs are batting .302 against lefties in their last 10 games and should be plenty motivated after Monday's embarrassing 18-1 defeat.

Pick: Chicago Cubs

Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates (+137, 8)

Despite taking a no-decision in his last outing, Reds righty Johnny Cueto remains one of the hottest and most underrated pitchers in baseball with a 4-0 record and 1.55 ERA over his last seven starts.

Cueto is 2-0 against the Pirates this season and 8-2 for his career, carrying an even 3.00 ERA. He brings a 15-inning scoreless streak against the Bucs into this one, including a complete-game shutout on May 11.

"We appreciate what he's done and we appreciate the progress he's made," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "A lot of people are thinking he should be further ahead than he is now, but we don't. We think he's right on course to being an outstanding pitcher."

Pittsburgh answers with righthander Jeff Karstens, who is 0-3 lifetime against the Reds with a 6.45 ERA. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings in his last start vs. Cincy and the Bucs' bullpen is a question mark after trading away closer Octavio Dotel and another reliever.

The Reds are batting a solid .294 against righties in their last 10 games to the Pirates' .225. With Cincy seeking the NL Central crown and the Bucs battling for the basement, look for the Reds to batter the Bucs.

Pick: Cincinnati Reds

LADY LUCK

Wednesday's Best WNBA Bets

Chicago Sky at Los Angeles Sparks (+2.5, 148)

The Chicago Sky have fallen off the pace in the Eastern Conference, dropping to the bottom of the standings with a 12-15 record – six games behind first place. However, all they need to get back on track may be a little fun in the sun.

Chicago has lost three straight outings, most recently falling 97-96 to the Phoenix Mercury last weekend. The Sky jumped out to a quick lead but fell behind at the half and couldn’t regain their lead until late in the game, eventually losing on last-minute free throws and a wayward inbounds pass.

It was just the second time this season Chicago has lost to a Western Conference team, dropping to 6-2. That dominance over Western Conference foes has been very profitable for Sky backers, who have gone 7-1 against the spread over those eight non-conference clashes.

Chicago won its first meeting with Los Angeles earlier this season, taking an 80-68 victory as a 9-point home favorite. The Sky are 5-4 ATS versus the Sparks going back to 2006 while L.A. has been dismal against the spread at home, posting a 2-8-2 mark in its last 12 home contests.

Pick: Chicago Sky

3 - Combined number of at-bats it took legendary sluggers Babe Ruth (1) and Hank Aaron (2) to go from home run Nos. 599 to 600. Yankees star Alex Rodriguez entered Tuesday night's game homerless in 48 at-bats since hitting No. 599 last month.

Injury That Shouldn't Be Overlooked

The Philadelphia Phillies placed All-Star first baseman Ryan Howard on the disabled list with an ankle sprain. Howard left Sunday's game in the first inning after he suffered the injury while sliding back into second base. Howard is batting .282 with 23 home runs and 81 RBIs this season for the Phillies, who are three games back of the first-place Atlanta Braves in the NL East. John Mayberry (.211, four HRs, eight RBIs) has been recalled to take Howard's spot on the roster.

Game Of The Day

Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers (-107, 9)

Notable Quotable

"I don't know how everyone feels or if they felt it. Maybe it was a little bit of a relief. Maybe it's a feeling of, 'I can do a little more without wondering what he thinks.' "
San Diego Chargers quarterback told the San Diego Union-Tribune about the departure of former teammate and All-Pro running back LaDainian Tomlinson to the New York Jets. Chargers tight end Antonio Gates also chimed in about LT's "sense of stardom status."

Tips And Notes

Some may call it a 1-2 punch, but it's technically a 2-3 if you're scoring at home. Regardless of the numbers, it was a big blow for the Cleveland Indians, who placed catcher Carlos Santana and first baseman Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday. Santana was shelved with a knee injury, while Hafner has been plagued by lingering soreness in his right shoulder. Santana, a rookie, is batting .265 with six home runs and 22 RBIs in 45 games this season. Hafner is batting .267 with nine home runs and 33 RBIs.

Netherlands standout Arjen Robben will be sidelined for two months with a torn thigh muscle. The injury was revealed when Robben returned to his German club team Bayern Munich for a routine examination. Robben was outstanding in leading the Netherlands to the World Cup final against Spain. He will not be available for the Netherland's qualifying matches for the 2012 Euro Cup, where the Dutch are the second pick behind Spain to capture the championship.

Mark your calendar for Oct. 26 - the date the NBA season will open with a matchup of the Big Three present vs. The Big Three past. The Boston Celtics will kick off the 2010-11 season by hosting the revamped Miami Heat, considered the biggest threat to dethrone the Celtics as Eastern Conference champions after signing two-time MVP LeBron James and star forward Chris Bosh while re-signing standout guard Dwyane Wade in the offseason. The Celtics won the NBA title in 2008 after acquiring forward Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to mesh with forward Paul Pierce. The Heat are 7/5 favorites to win it all next season while the Celtics are listed at 10/1.

Hondo

Hondo won in heroic fashion with the Metamucils last night but was hosed by Leake and the Reds, so the deficit increased slightly to 1,280 sieberts.

Today, he'll run with the big 'dogs -- 10 units apiece on the Giants, Astros and Indians.
